Ryan Murphy Taking On Bret Easton Ellis’ ‘The Shards’ for FX

Ryan Murphy’s next project at FX will travel back to the early 1980s.
The mega-producer is developing a drama based on Bret Easton Ellis’ novel The Shards, which takes the author’s high school years in Los Angeles as inspiration. Kaia Gerber is attached to star in the project, with Max Winkler set to direct. Disney’s 20th Television, where Murphy is based, is the studio.
Reps for FX and 20th TV declined comment.
More to come.
