SNL Takes on The White Lotus with Hilarious Donald Trump Parody: Introducing “The White POTUS”

Following the epic season three finale of the show created by Mike White last Sunday, Saturday Night Live decided to parody the hit HBO series with a twist featuring President Donald Trump.

The pre-taped sketch kicks off with Chloe Fineman embodying Melania Trump, adopting the iconic southern accent of Victoria Ratliff, a character from The White Lotus. “Hun? Donald, are you getting ready? Hello? Earth to Donald, it’s your wife, Melania. Are you OK?” she calls out to her husband. Meanwhile, James Austin Johnson’s Trump, seemingly channeling Jason Isaacs’s Timothy Ratliff, appears preoccupied with other matters.

The sketch also introduces the rest of the Ratliff— or rather, Trump— family, who grapple with financial woes throughout season three. Mikey Day takes on the role of Donald Trump Jr., reminiscent of Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Saxon, while former SNL cast member Alex Moffat makes a cameo as Eric Trump, echoing Sam Nivola’s Lochlan. Scarlett Johansson surprises viewers by appearing as Ivanka Trump, inspired by Sarah Catherine Hook’s Piper.

At the dinner table, Fineman’s Melania expresses, “We are so lucky that America will always be a rich and powerful nation. I mean, can you imagine how awful it would be if America lost all its money and no one in the world respected us anymore?” Just then, Austin’s Trump receives a text with a headline that reads, “Trump Triggers Worldwide Recession.”

“You would never let our economy go to pieces. Right, hun?” Fineman’s Melania adds, emphasizing her concern.

Host Jon Hamm assumes the role of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., paralleling Rick (played by Walton Goggins), while Sarah Sherman portrays Aimee Lou Wood’s Chelsea, and Lizzo takes on Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda. “These old white Trump dudes are trying to ruin my life,” the singer-rapper exclaims. “Oh my gosh, there’s $5 million in my bank account. It was $20 million last week.”

In a surprising twist, Day’s Don Jr. finds himself in a shocking intimate scene reminiscent of Saxon’s storyline in The White Lotus; however, instead of the season three incest plot, he gets involved with Kenan Thompson’s Tiger Woods, who is currently dating Don Jr.’s real-life ex-wife.

SNL also highlights several key figures in the Trump administration. In the sketch, Heidi Gardner portrays Kristi Noem, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, while Ashley Padilla takes on the role of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, and Marcello Hernández plays U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
