Shailene Woodley Joins Lindsay Lohan in ‘Count My Lies’ Drama at Hulu

Hulu is moving ahead with a limited series starring Lindsay Lohan, with Shailene Woodley set to join her.

The streamer has picked up Count My Lies, which is based on a novel by Sophie Stava and comes from former This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. The show has been in development since April, with Lohan attached from the start. Woodley is a new addition; both will be executive producers in addition to starring.

The pickup comes on the heels of Freakier Friday, with Lohan reprising her role from 2003’s Freaky Friday, scoring a strong opening weekend at the box office. Woodley, meanwhile, adds a second Hulu series to her resumé after joining season two of Paradise.

The logline for Count My Lies reads, “When compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart, it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.”

Stava’s debut novel was a Good Morning America Book Club pick earlier this year. It was published by Scout Press, and imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Disney’s 20th Television, where Aptaker and Berger have an overall deal, is producing Count My Lies. The pair are adapting the novel and will executive producing via their Walk-Up Company. Lohan, Woodley and Walk-Up Company’s also exec produce; Stava is a producer.
