Streaming Ratings: ‘Outer Banks’ Returns to No. 1 With Back Half of Season 4

After a week off the charts, Netflix’s Outer Banks returned to the streaming rankings — shooting to No. 1 overall with the release of its latest batch of episodes.

The YA drama brought in 1.23 billion minutes of viewing for the week of Nov. 4-10, according to Nielsen; the second half of season four premiered on Nov. 7. That’s the highest weekly tally for Outer Banks since the season premiered in October, although still well below its biggest performances in season three.

The Diplomat (1.22 billion minutes) finished a close second, growing a little bit from its premiere week and remaining in second place overall. The Lincoln Lawyer gave up its No. 1 ranking but stayed above the billion-minute mark with 1.11 billion minutes of watch time.

The top new entrant in the streaming charts for the week was Gossip Girl. The erstwhile CW series racked up 617 million minutes of viewing after rejoining Netflix (it also streams on Max and Hulu, via a Max add-on). Nielsen notes nearly half the show’s audience was made up of teenagers and adults under 35, suggesting a new set of viewers who might have been too young for the original run are discovering the show.

Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building (293 million minutes) and Disney+’s Agatha All Along (287 million) hung onto spots among the top 10 original series a week after their respective season finales. Despicable Me 4 (478 million minutes on Peacock) led the movie rankings, and Netflix’s Meet Me Next Christmas (438 million) started the annual influx of holiday titles a little earlier than usual.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for Nov. 4-10, 2024, are below.
