Teresa Palmer Joins Chris Hemsworth in Amazon MGM Thriller ‘Subversion’ (Exclusive)

Teresa Palmer has permission to come aboard Amazon MGM Studios‘ submarine thriller Subversion.
Palmer has joined the cast of director Patrick Vollrath’s feature, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The actress, who recently starred alongside Ryan Gosling in Universal’s The Fall Guy, joins previously announced Subversion castmembers Chris Hemsworth, Lily James, Michael Peña and Joe Cole.
THR exclusively reported last month that David Wenham (Elvis), Robert John Burke (The Last of Us) and Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets) will also appear in the movie. Vollrath (7500) helms Subversion from a script by Andrew Ferguson. Lorenzo di Bonaventura produces the project, while Stephen Shafer and Greg Cohen serve as executive producers for di Bonaventura Pictures.
Subversion centers on a formerly respected naval commander (Hemsworth) who is blackmailed into piloting a submarine loaded with illegal cargo across international waters. Adding to the conflict is a Coast Guard officer (James) in hot pursuit of the vessel.
In addition to David Leitch’s The Fall Guy that hit theaters last year, Palmer is known for such features as Hacksaw Ridge, Warm Bodies and Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups. Palmer’s series work includes AMC’s A Discovery of Witches and Disney+’s The Clearing.
The actress will soon appear in the movie Bear Country with Russell Crowe, Nina Dobrev and Aaron Paul. Her other forthcoming credits include Orion’s 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, which co-stars Liam Neeson, Talia Ryder and Whitney Peak and counts Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as producers.
Palmer is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, Shanahan Management and Sloane Offer.
