The Hollywood Reporter Nabs 50 Awards at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, Including 13 First-Place Wins

The Hollywood Reporter won 13 first-place prizes at the 18th annual National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, including Angie Han being named TV critic of the year.

The awards, overseen by the Los Angeles Press Club, were handed out at an awards gala held Sunday night at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Other THR wins included two first-place awards for Gary Baum — for his profile of awards guru Colleen Camp and his report on Matthew Perry’s “street dealer.” Katie Kilkenny also took home two top awards, for her feature pieces on the victims of the L.A. fires, as well as a piece on the Hollywood strikes one year on. Lily Ford won first place for her online TV/streaming feature on Netflix’s Adolescence. And Beatrice Verhoeven won the award for TV/streaming online soft news for her piece on TV writer Morenike Balogun, who lost her home in the Palisades fire.

Also at the ceremony, the Press Club presented Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen with the Visionary Award (with an introduction from Evan Goldberg), Marlee Matlin received the Impact Award (intro from Henry Winkler), Paul Anka was honored with the Legend Award (intro from Richard Marx), Kasi Lemmons was presented with the Distinguished Storyteller Award (intro from Jurnee Smollett), and LAist’s Larry Mantle was honored with the Luminary Award for Career Achievement (intro from Patt Morrison).

THR went into the ceremony with a total of 85 nominations, a record for the news organization, nabbing a total of 50 wins on Sunday night. A full list of THR’s wins follows. See the full list of winners here.
