The Pitt Breakout Isa Briones and AnnaSophia Robb Join All Nighter for Hit Off-Broadway Play’s Final Weeks (Exclusive)

All Nighter is adding a couple of familiar faces to its cast!

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the hit Off-Broadway play will see AnnaSophia Robb and Isa Briones join the cast as Darcie and Lizzy, respectively — the two actresses inheriting the roles from Kristine Froseth and Havana Rose Liu after the latter take their final bows on April 25.

The duo will begin performances on Wednesday, April 30, and remain in the show through its closing on May 18. Prior to their debuts, understudies Tessa Albertson (Darcie) and Olivia Puckett (Lizzy) will go on.

A former child actress in movies like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Bridge to Terabithia (2007), Robb, 31, currently stars in the NBC series Grosse Pointe Garden Society. She also recently appeared in the Netflix film Rebel Ridge, and was the breakout star of The Carrie Diaries.

“It’s a dream come true to join the cast of All Nighter,” Robb tells PEOPLE exclusively, adding that she “fell in love with [writer Natalie Margolin’s] play “in 2019 when I first read it.”

The actress adds that she “feel(s) lucky to have the opportunity to come in and perform alongside women whom I respect, admire and treasure — what a gift!”

“Natalie’s play speaks to the complexity of female friendship in a fresh way that often goes unexplored,” Robb continues. “The material gives each audience member something to connect with or see within themselves. My previous theater experience was an all-female version of Macbeth, so to exist and continue to create with risk-taking women — that’s my favorite place to be!”

Briones, 26, can currently be seen as Dr. Trinity Santos in hit Max medical drama The Pitt, and is also known for her roles in series like Goosebumps and Star Trek Picard. On stage, she has appeared in several musical productions, including as Eurydice in Hadestown on Broadway.

“All Nighter will be my first time doing a non-musical play and I’m so grateful to be joining this incredible cast alongside AnnaSophia, who has been such a rock throughout this process,” Briones says to PEOPLE. “I never went to college, but with Natalie Margolin’s truthful and poignant writing, I feel like I finally get to!”

Margolin said in statement that she is “so thrilled to welcome AnnaSophia and Isa into our All Nighter family,” adding, “The company of amazing women working on this play is expanding and I am so grateful to each and every one of them for bringing such talent and care to these characters.”

Per an official synopsis, All Nighter follows “a tight-knit group of roommates” in rural Pennsylvania who “pull one last all-nighter to complete their final assignments” during finals week at their small liberal-arts college.

“Holed up in an old ballroom, the pressure mounts as the truths that bind this group together are put to the test. What will be left when the sun rises?” the synopsis adds.

All Nighter opened at the Newman Mills Theater in the Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space in New York City on March 9, after beginning with previews on Feb. 25. The production has a strictly limited 12-week run that concludes on May 18.

Directed by Jaki Bradley, the must-see comedy is produced by Tony winner Ben Platt, alongside Alyah Chanelle Scott, Adam Mersel, Rachel Sussman and Thomas Laub.

Aside from Froseth, 29, and Liu, 27, All Nighter currently stars Kathryn Gallagher as Jacqueline, Julia Lester as Wilma and Scott, 27, as Tessa.

Speaking with PEOPLE about All Nighter in March, Froseth said she was quick to say “yes” when the opportunity to star in the show arose, despite feeling “scared” to make her theater debut.

But she felt more secure in her decision after she read the script, explaining, “I was blown away by the nuances of the female friendships, and how they create their own reality and how they decide to stick with the narrative.”

“It is a beautiful experience about people checking in with themselves and on their narratives, and figuring out how to live truthfully with one another,” Froseth added.
