‘The White Lotus’ Release Date Revealed in First Trailer for Thailand Season
The White Lotus season three is looking for love in Thailand.
The highly anticipated return of Mike White‘s HBO drama series has been revealed with the first trailer. The Thailand-set season will release starting Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO, available to stream on Max.
“Seeking peace can be a trip,” said HBO when dropping the teaser trailer, which also says in voiceover, “Everyone runs from pain towards pleasure. But they get there only to find more pain.”
The first season of The White Lotus highlighted money and the second season highlighted sex. Plot details for season three are purposefully being kept in White’s vault, but the creator has said the third season will be a “satirical and funny look at death and eastern religion and spirituality.”
Here’s the brief logline: “The social satire is set at an exclusive Thai resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.”
The nearly minute-and-a-half first look (below) expands upon that promise, and introduces the characters played by the sprawling cast that includes returning star Natasha Rothwell, reprising her originating role as Hawaii spa manager Belinda Lindsey, along with Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins (who said the offer brought him to tears), Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan and Parker Posey.
Also rounding out the cast are Blackpink member Lisa Manobal, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Tayme Thapthimthong, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Nicholas Duvernay, Francesca Corney, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi and Shalini Peiris.
The White Lotus is created, written, and directed by White and is executive produced by White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
Below are the first-look photos of the cast, which includes who they are playing and their character descriptions.
