‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Casts Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka

The first guests have checked into The White Lotus season four.
Mike White’s HBO drama has cast Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) and AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs) for the fourth season, which will film in France. Season four will “follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week,” per HBO.
Don’t give away too much now, guys.
The White Lotus season four is executive produced by White, David Bernad and Mark Kamine. White, the show’s creator, directs and writes the series.
For quite a while there, where The White Lotus season four would be set was kept as quiet as possible. The French connection was not officially confirmed until Nov. 20.
“It’s going to be in France,” HBO chief Casey Bloys told a group of reporters, including The Hollywood Reporter, in November. “Mike [White] is writing and just starting.”
Bloys added at the time that White was “very, very early” in the casting process. A month later, we’ve got our first results of that labor.
The season four location had been teased since season three ended — before that, actually.
White “just wouldn’t want to be in the cold,” Bernad told THR as part of a White Lotus cover story ahead of the season three finale. “He hates it.”
And on the official White Lotus podcast after the season three finale, White hinted at a change from the beachside resorts of the past three seasons in Hawaii, Italy and Thailand, respectively. He said he’d “want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular.”
That doesn’t mean he’s going for full-on city lights — White has previously said that a setting in Paris would feel “like a cop-out.”
On the red carpet for the 2025 Emmys, season three actress Parker Posey said White wasn’t in attendance because he was in the south of France, which is “where season four’s gonna be.” Speaking about those remarks to THR after the ceremony, Bloys joked, “Well, if she said it, I will have to agree with her.”
Bernad also told THR over the summer that although he couldn’t share anything specific about season four, he was “very excited for what Mike is working on and thinking about.”
“I think it’s going to speak to culture in a way that […] is going to be relevant,” Bernad said. “I don’t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it’s going, and it’s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four.”
Ludwig is represented by Untitled Entertainment, Gersh and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Michalka is represented by United talent agency, Amplified, and Mckuin, Frankel, Whitehead.
