Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan Star in New Guy Ritchie Crime Series at Showtime
A Guy Ritchie crime series with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren starring is in production for Paramount+ With Showtime.
The untitled project is a global crime series centered around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch all corners of the globe and the fiercely loyal “fixer” charged with protecting one of them at all costs.
Hardy will play Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family, while Brosnan will play Conrad Harrigan, the head of a successful Irish crime family based out of London for whom Harry works. Mirren will play Maeve Harrigan, Conrad’s wife and the Harrigan family matriarch.
The series is produced in association with Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. The project will debut globally in 2025 on Paramount+ and the Paramount+ with Showtime platform in the U.S.
The Guy Ritchie project comes in the wake of Paramount+ ordering a spinoff of its crime drama Ray Donovan that was to be directed and executive produced by Ritchie. Titled The Donovans, the new series was to be “loosely based” on the successful series that ran for seven seasons on Showtime and starred Liev Schreiber as a professional “fixer” in Los Angeles.
But the untitled Ritchie crime drama, thought to have an earlier title The Associate and set in the U.K., has now become a standalone series not tied to The Donovans property.
“Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are masters at their craft and we are honored to have them lead the cast for Guy Richie’s new global, original series,” Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios said in a statement on Wednesday.
For Ritchie, the project marks another step into the TV world following his Netflix series The Gentlemen. Both Gentlemen and The Donovans have storylines that center around Ritchie’s signature storytelling strength — London-based crime dramas (in films like Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).
The UK-set series with Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren as series regulars is executive produced by Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Tom Hardy, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari.
“Guy, Jez Butterworth and Ronan Bennett’s creative prowess, coupled with these gifted actors, is the perfect recipe for what we believe will be the next brand defining series for Showtime on Paramount+,” McCarthy added.
