Where Is the Rest of ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 2? We Have an Answer

Will MomTok survive long enough to finish out the end of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two? It appears so.

Hulu’s ever-popular reality show, which spotlights Utah-based Mormon mom-influencers, debuted the first 10 episodes of its highly anticipated second season last Thursday. However, eagle-eyed fans would remember when the series was renewed for a second season, the streamer had ordered 20 episodes of the dramatic hit show.

With only 10 episodes currently available to stream, does this mean there will be a second part of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two? That answer is yes, and production is currently underway on those final episodes, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.

It’s unclear when, but the second half of Secret Lives season two will premiere later this year as the cast is actively filming those remaining 10 episodes.

The series’ 10th episode closed out with a looming “To be continued” message, leaving viewers confused and eager to know the fate of MomTok. With confirmation of 20 episodes certain (and no word on a reunion yet), there are many unanswered questions about the fate of the women’s friendships.

The first half of Secret Lives season two saw MomTok — comprised of Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt, plus new addition Miranda McWhorter — juggle conflict amongst one another.

The crux of the show ignited thanks to Paul for exposing what she called a “soft swinging” scandal involving herself and other MomTok members, including McWhorter. With the shock of the “swinging” mostly dissolved at the beginning of the sophomore season, McWhorter’s sudden addition to the cast gave more clarity on the length of the scandal that equivocally landed them a reality series.

Still, the “swinging” wasn’t at the forefront of part one, while more eyes were focused upon Leavitt’s bid to rejoin the group after dissolving most of her friendships with the women, Paul’s up-and-down relationship with her new baby daddy and the uncertainty of Affleck’s marriage following turbulence with her husband, Zac, that was outlined in season one.

Nonetheless, most of season two centered around the lives of Paul and Affleck as they both grappled with the question of whether to stay or not to stay with their respective partners. Affleck opened up season two revealing she’d been separated from Zac before soon finding out she was pregnant during filming while Paul learned her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, whom she just had a child with, had blurred lines with another woman at the start of their romance.

Plus, drama from a trip Engemann, Ngatikaura, Affleck, Taylor and Matthews took on Hulu’s sister series Vanderpump Villa season 2 bled into Secret Lives’ storyline and has become a major talking point for viewers — and MomTok — on social media.

With part two now on the horizon, it’s likely the Vanderpump Villa controversy may be at the forefront of the remaining narrative as the cast can’t stop talking about the situation online.

Still, avid fans will have to wait to see what MomTok has in store for the rest of the second season. In the meantime, hopefully the cast will save a bit of drama for the show without spoiling all the details on podcasts and interviews before the remainder of season two has a chance to premiere later this year.
