Who Is Rachel Boston’s Husband? All About Tolya Ashe
When Rachel Boston isn’t winning over viewers’ hearts in the latest Hallmark movie, she’s likely at home with the ones who have hers — her husband, Tolya Ashe, and their daughter, Grace.
Though she keeps her relationship with the chef private, Boston and Ashe got engaged in 2021 and welcomed their daughter a year later.
So who Is Rachel Boston’s husband? Here’s everything to know about Tolya Ashe and his relationship with the actress.
He’s a chef
Ashe is the owner and operator and head chef at Little Gem N.Y.C. Catering & Event.
He’s a private chef whose goal is to help busy people eat well, according to his website, which also says he is “known for his aptitude for creative, healthy ingredients and his boundless energy.”
Ashe says his “first priority is sourcing local, organic ingredients,” and he states that “great flavor is rooted in high quality meats and vegetables.” He’s passionate about the health of his clients, which he says “starts with investing in the food you consume”
When it comes to catering events, Ashe says his “main objective is to stay in the background and ensure your event is a huge success.” He credits his years of kitchen management for helping to understand how to go above and beyond to keep the client as the focus.
Ashe even had the opportunity to work an event in the Hamptons for Jennifer Garner’s brand Once Upon a Farm, which he says is the coolest thing he’s done professionally.
“It really showed to me what a community can do to bring quality produce to a much wider audience,” he explained.
Ashe studied French Cuisine at the International Culinary Center in 2011.
His brother-in-law is Seth Myers
Ashe’s sister Alexi married Seth Meyers in 2013. The couple tied the knot on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, celebrating with famous friends including Olivia Munn, Allison Williams, Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler. The couple share three children together.
The brothers-in-law once appeared together for a Vogue video in 2013, when they challenged Alexi and Elettra Wiedemann to a grilled cheese cook-off.
That same year, Meyers promoted a business venture of Ashe’s on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “My good friend and amazing chef, Tolya Ashe is available.”
In October 2017, Meyers and Ashe were photographed together at the La Ligne X Cuyana Collaboration Celebration hosted by Ashe + Leandro, a design company owned by Alexi and Ariel Ashe.
He and Boston got engaged in 2021
Boston announced her engagement to Ashe in an Instagram post on June 15, 2021. “My forever love ❤️❤️❤️,” she captioned a romantic photo of the couple, simply adding “engaged” as their location.
While Boston has never publicly acknowledged if or when they officially wed, she did speak out about their relationship during a joint appearance on Home & Family in December 2020, where the Hallmark star revealed she and Ashe were introduced by one of his sisters in 2010.
“We actually had the classic Hallmark start where you’ve known each other for a long time, family is involved,” Boston gushed before sharing that they didn’t immediately begin dating. “But then we reconnected and it was just divine timing.”
He and Boston share one daughter
Boston shared the happy news of her pregnancy on Instagram in October 2021.
“It’s a girl!!!! 💗💗💗 Thank you for choosing me to be your mama,” she wrote alongside a stunning photo of herself cradling her baby bump with the sun setting in the background. “I am so excited for our journey ahead and can’t wait to show you this beautiful world! You are a light on this earth. I can already see it and feel it. 💗.”
The pair went on to welcome their daughter, Grace, on January 14, 2022.
Boston announced the baby girl’s arrival on Facebook, writing, “Welcome to the world my little angel!!!! 💗💗💗 Baby Grace is here and our hearts are so very full!!! Thank you to everyone surrounding us with so much love. 💓💓💓 #amazinggrace #2022 #welcomehome.”
Over the years, Boston has shared sweet images of Grace, including the little girl visiting her on a Hallmark movie set in July 2022. Alongside the photo, the doting mom shared what the moment felt like for her.
“This smile!!! My favorite person came to see me at work,” she wrote. “Being a new mom while playing a mom is an incredible feeling. Thank you to our producers and crew and the entire team @hallmarkchannel for supporting women and working mothers and to @paulcampbellofficial for all the dad jokes.”
In August 2022, Boston spoke to PEOPLE about playing an onscreen mom for the first time since becoming a real-life mom.
“It is so interesting to think back on how different I would have played certain aspects of new motherhood,” she said. “It’s just really exciting to be able to claim motherhood and be able to tell these stories now with this understanding.”
He has New Mexico and Martha’s Vineyard roots
Ashe is a native of New Mexico and is a Martha’s Vineyard transplant. According to John Mulaney in a Vogue story about Meyers and Alexi’s wedding, he wrote: “The Ashes arrived there by accident in the summer of 1988, when a hurricane blocked their trip to Bermuda. On their second day on the island, they were house-hunting.”
His background has played a pivotal part in his career.
“Hailing from New Mexico and Martha’s Vineyard, Tolya’s cooking combines a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients,” his website bio reads. “He strives to create balanced, personalized meal plans based on his clients’ dietary needs.”
It adds: “He studied at the International Culinary Center and quickly gained a following of families and celebrities that fell in love with his cooking and his unique, positive personality.”
