Will Smith Shuts Down Rumored Connection to Sean “Diddy” Combs: “I Ain’t Been Nowhere Near That Man”

Will Smith is shutting down any rumors that he partook in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ “freak-offs,” gatherings hosted by the rap mogul that allegedly involved sexual assault and sex workers.

The actor, who has recently gotten back into music, performed a concert in San Diego on Friday and took a moment to distance himself from Combs between songs.

“The world we’re in right now, it’s really hard for y’all to like discern what’s real and what’s true, you know? And I’ve been seeing y’all memes and stuff,” the King Richard star said in a video posted on TikTok and obtained by TMZ. “Some of that stuff is funny. Some of it’s funny, but I haven’t addressed any of this publicly, but I just want to say this very clearly: I don’t have shit to do with Puffy. So y’all can stop all those memes.”

He explained he doesn’t typically address “dumb ass stuff” publicly since people are constantly saying things, but he felt the need to do so with these rumors because “y’all memes was doing too much.”

“Listen, I do enough of my own shit,” the Oscar winner continued. “Don’t be putting me in other people’s bullshit. I ain’t been nowhere near that man, ain’t did none of that stupid shit. So, whenever y’all hear it, if somebody say that, it’s a damn lie. I don’t even like baby oil,” referring to the 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant that were found when authorities raided Combs’ Los Angeles and Florida homes in March.

Smith’s comments follow Jay-Z being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 in a lawsuit that alleged Combs also took part in the assault, which reportedly took place at a house party after the MTV Video Music Awards.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, wrote in a lengthy statement following the lawsuit, “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

On a Friday, an NBC News report stated that Carter’s attorney was looking to dismiss the lawsuit after the Jane Doe, who was cited in it, had a series of inconsistencies in her allegations.

“Today’s investigative report proves this ‘attorney’ [Tony] Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame,” the mogul said in a new statement. “This incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press. True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”

Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking when he was arrested on Sept. 16. He has requested bail three times and been denied each time. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and will remain there until his trial in May.
