7 Fresh Winter Outfits to Wear With All of Your White T-Shirts
I know I should be concentrating on winter coats and boots since we’re *technically* deep into fall, but I’ve got T-shirts on the brain. Ever since I wrote this story about the cool T-shirt brands I’ve noticed people wearing, the algorithm has been doing its thing, and I’ve had nonstop outfits starring fresh white tees showing up in my feed—and with this unseasonably warm New York autumn weather, I’m seeing them everywhere IRL as well.
I have to say, these 70-degree days and 50-degree evenings are really giving the simple white T-shirt its moment to shine. Usually hidden below several layers by now, the classic tee is currently thriving in full view beneath unbuttoned fall jackets and open trench coats. Should you love easy, neutral looks and be in the mood for a little outfit inspo, here are some of the most enjoyable, simple white T-shirt outfits that have come across my feed. As always, I’m including shopping ideas to re-create the look—just add some extra-cozy layers to transition the vibe into proper winter when temperatures finally drop.
All that’s needed to carry this leopard-print miniskirt into winter is a pair of black tights and the long wool coat of your choice.
A white tee with a relaxed trench is about as classic as it gets. Below is the exact Z Supply trench coat Mimi Nguyen is wearing in this pic, but here’s another under-$200 option from Nordstrom that comes with a cozy fleece lining.
A decidedly fall outfit but too good not to include with these poppy little loafers. We’ll obviously be swapping in jeans come winter and upping the coat option to something a little longer and heavier.
Monikh Dale’s always the master of wearable outfits, and her pregnancy style is basically what I aspire to in my non-pregnant everyday state. Her oversize tee and sneakers feel chill yet put-together when paired with the polish of a long leather jacket and (very on-trend) burgundy Puzzle tote.
First, I have to caution you against wearing light jeans if it’s raining. Those dirty little splatters up the back of the legs just aren’t worth it. Other than that, this creamy outfit feels refreshingly light for a dreary day—add some socks and a knit layer when it gets cooler, either in another neutral tone or a punchy color. There are no wrong answers.
Speaking of knits, a white tee layered under a black crewneck cardigan is my current go-to with jeans. There’s not much I’m doing that this look can’t handle, especially with polished accessories like a studded bag and patent loafers.
This look is very downtown weekend mode, from the cap all the way down to those boots. I’d also argue that nothing looks better under an oversize vintage-inspired leather jacket than a white tee—especially if it’s ribbed to give even more of that early ’90s off-duty movie-star vibe.
