A Week of TikTok’s Hottest Blushes: Discover Which Shade Took the Crown!

I have developed a fondness for blush. Perhaps it’s the rich history behind it or the glamorous associations it carries, but it has quickly become one of my favorite makeup products. This is quite surprising, considering I used to avoid it completely. For most of my life, I struggled with redness and rosacea-prone skin, and the idea of intensifying my flushed appearance was far from appealing. However, upon reaching my late 20s, I discovered the transformative power of blush. When applied correctly, it doesn’t highlight my patchy redness; instead, it brightens my complexion, banishes dullness, and makes me look vibrant and alive.

Recently, I joined TikTok, and I’ve found myself spending an excessive amount of time scrolling through videos, many of which feature makeup reviews and get-ready-with-me content. I’ve observed that the majority of TikTok-viral makeup products are blushes. Whether they come in cream, liquid, or oil forms (more on that later), TikTok users can’t seem to get enough of them. As any diligent beauty editor would do, I decided to test them all, comparing the various products to identify the standout formulas recommended by TikTok. Below, you’ll find some of the best blushes I tried, along with my impressions of what they look like in real life, and the ultimate winner. (Hint: Even I was taken aback by the result.)

I have a theory that it’s nearly impossible to scroll through TikTok without encountering this blush. It seems that every beauty influencer swears by it, so my expectations were understandably high. Based on what I had seen, I anticipated that the cream formula would deliver bold color payoff, blend effortlessly, and appear natural on the skin.

My expectations were definitely met. I opted for the bright-pink shade called Lucky, which is typically outside my comfort zone, but hey, go big or go home, right? I loved how the color complemented my skin, making my lips appear pinker and my eyes seem bluer. The formula was highly pigmented, so I applied it with a light touch, using just two to three dots along each cheekbone and blending it out with my trusty Beautyblender. The color remained intact all day, and the radiant finish didn’t leave me looking overly shiny. Overall, I have nothing but positive remarks about it.

**Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Powder Blush**
*Tuesday: Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Powder Blush*
Pat McGrath’s makeup brand enjoys immense popularity, and with good reason—she is one of the most recognized makeup artists globally. I had seen this blush all over social media, but I didn’t expect it to look as stunning in real life. I was pleasantly surprised. Upon opening the compact, the rose design was exquisite, almost too beautiful to use (almost).

I applied this blush with a heavier hand to see how the silky powder would perform on my skin. The result? It looked incredibly natural—almost as if I had just returned from a jog or spent time outdoors. It blended seamlessly into my skin, giving the impression that the color was emanating from within, which I adored. This is why I tend to favor powder blushes over creams; when they’re lightweight and silky, they apply effortlessly and blend well without leaving me looking shiny, which is crucial for someone prone to oiliness.

This was the product I was most eager to try at the beginning of my week of testing. I had seen it everywhere online but had yet to experiment with it myself. This color-changing oil formula appears green in the tube, but upon application, it transforms into a flattering pink shade based on your individual pH.

It was indeed fun to use, and I enjoyed the pink flush it provided. However, I found the formula a bit too shiny for my complexion. Given my tendency to get oily throughout the day, an oil-based blush exacerbated the issue. That said, if you have drier skin or prefer a super-dewy finish, this blush might be perfect for you.

**Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush**
*Thursday: Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush*
This iconic blush has been on my radar ever since it went viral as one of Kylie Jenner’s favorite products. While bubblegum pink might seem a bit shocking, I find it chic. With bright-pink blushes trending on TikTok, I felt it was the right time to give it a shot.

To put it simply, I love this blush. I initially expected it to be overly bright or even a bit costume-like, but I was mistaken. It actually appears quite subtle when applied with a light touch, making my cheekbones look bright and defined without being too obvious. The fine, silky powder applies beautifully and blends seamlessly, reminding me of the Pat McGrath blush in terms of how well it fuses into the skin. I truly adore this blush.

**Saie Dew Blush**
*Friday: Saie Dew Blush*
Expecting this highly pigmented cream blush to resemble the Rare Beauty formula, I found it to be slightly different. Its pigment wasn’t as intense, and I felt it blended out more easily. In the accompanying photo, it doesn’t quite do the blush justice. On the day I wore it, I met my sister for coffee, and her immediate reaction was, “Wait, why do you look so good?” The only difference was this blush. She even asked to try it, commenting that my skin looked vibrant and my eyes more intense.

I loved this blush just as much as my sister did. The color was incredibly flattering to my skin tone, and it blended effortlessly without making me look overly shiny. It provided the perfect pop of color with an ideal finish.

**Charlotte Tilbury Pinkgasm Beauty Highlighter Wand**

While this is technically a highlighter, if you scroll through TikTok, you’ll see that many users refer to it as a blush. It features a highly pigmented formula that leaves a soft petal-pink hue on the skin, so I felt compelled to include it in my testing of TikTok-viral blushes.

Upon application, it was clear that it serves as a highlighter first. The soft, shimmery finish is quite flattering in the light, adding a lovely flush of petal pink to my cheekbones. However, I noticed that it made my skin appear a bit shiny by the afternoon. Thankfully, a little translucent powder helped mitigate that.

**The Winner**
The ultimate winner, and my new favorite blush, is the Saie Dew Blush. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it. It’s creamy, the colors are spot-on, it blends beautifully, and it delivers a natural, lit-from-within flush to my face. Since my week of testing, I’ve been wearing it almost daily, and the compliments keep coming in.
