Peach & Lily’s Viral New Sheet Mask Is the Ultimate Hack for *Instant* Glass Skin
It’s no secret that we love K-beauty here at Who What Wear, but I can share that there are a few of us who have a full-on problem. Ahem, by a few of us, I mean me. Sorting through the massive selection of Korea’s finest skincare can feel like a daunting task because it’s all so good, but there’s one brand inspired by the country’s ingredients and traditions that was born here in the U.S. and actually rivals its best.
At this point, you’ve probably tried a thing or two from Peach & Lily, Alicia Yoon’s brainchild with a reputation for really good skincare. I can say with full honesty that there isn’t a single product I’ve tried from the brand that I didn’t immediately love. If you’re a fan of the brand’s cult-loved Glass Skin Refining Serum ($39), then you’ll definitely want to try the new sheet-mask version the brand recently released. It gives you the glossiest glow and is packed with powerhouse ingredients like youth-enhancing ginseng, niacinamide, peptides, and cica. You’ll also want to make haste with this one. It immediately sold out on launch day, meaning beauty lovers everywhere are coveting it.
Who What Wear beauty editor Kaitlyn McLintock and I put this mask to the test, and to say we were impressed with the results is an understatement. For all of our thoughts on it, keep scrolling.
Before you start assuming this mask is just packed with ingredients that cause a temporary radiance on the skin, think again. Yoon made sure this mask delivers a long-lasting, lit-from-within glow. “As the creators of Glass Skin, our goal was to deliver real, luminous glass skin that does not wash off,” she explains. “To achieve this, we don’t rely on acrylates that other collagen masks can include in large quantities that are more of a film former that isn’t long-lasting. Instead, we consider skin holistically and what it needs from within to be so nourished, calm, hydrated, and healthy that you can see glass skin from within. It’s stacked with a comprehensive formula with visible hydrators, calmers, brighteners, firmers, barrier supporters, and a rich blend of nutrients.”
One of the star ingredients in this mask is a 2% concentration of ginseng extract—a much higher percentage than what’s normally found in skincare. It also includes a vegan collagen peptide complex that plumps the skin with hydration and 2% niacinamide to brighten and support the skin barrier. Other celebrated Korean herbal extracts and rich fermented ingredients also stack up in this formula. In fact, there’s so much in there that one mask contains the equivalent of one 40-gram bottle of serum.
After hearing all of this, we were, of course, excited to put it to the test. Here’s what we thought along with our before-and-after photos.
Our Thoughts on the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Ginseng Collagen Mask
To give you a bit of background on my skin, I’ve been dealing with some skin-barrier damage, meaning I’m no stranger to breakouts, dehydration, and all the other fun things that can come with having impaired barrier function. As I’m sure you can imagine, it’s not easy to find products that gel well with my skin. I love Peach & Lily products because they’re so gentle on sensitive skin, and there are zero potentially harmful ingredients. As Yoon once told me, if there’s even a question mark around an ingredient’s safety, it will not be included in Peach & Lily products. They’ve also never once caused a breakout for me or any irritation, so if you have sensitive skin like I do, you can rest easy. Yes, everyone’s skin is different. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can share that my experience with the products and this mask, in particular, have been nothing but positive, and they’re worth a try if you have a similar skin type.
Because my skin is usually dehydrated when I wake up in the morning, I love using this mask as a pick-me-up. If you have time, Yoon even told me you can leave this mask on for a few hours—the mask will start to turn clear as your skin absorbs every last drop of serum it’s got. The below photo is my skin in the morning before cleansing and using the mask. As you can tell, it’s pretty dehydrated and overall a bit dull.
I left the mask on for about an hour and a half. I actually prefer to use it at night so I can leave it on even longer, but an hour and a half still did the trick. The below photo is what my skin looked like after that. Increased hydration levels and a healthier-looking glow were just a few key benefits! It also plumped up my skin and tightened some enlarged pores.
McLintock, who is a devoted Peach & Lily fan, also shared her thoughts on the new mask. Spoiler alert: She loved it just as much as I did.
“I’m a big fan of Peach & Lily’s skincare products—specifically the Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream and the Glass Skin Refining Serum,” she says. “I had high expectations for this mask, and honestly, it exceeded them.”
The below photo is what McLintock’s skin looked like before applying the mask.
She continues, “I decided to apply it right before I went to bed on clean, dry skin. I was worried it would slip off my skin in the night, but it didn’t. After about 20 minutes or so, it dried down and stuck securely to my skin. Come morning, it had turned clear. I removed it, and much to my delight, my skin looked clear, smooth, plump, and glassy. I met a friend for lunch, and she said, I quote, ‘Your skin looks incredible! What foundation are you wearing?’ I told her I wasn’t wearing foundation at all. This mask is that good.”
Below is what McLintock’s skin looked like after leaving the mask on overnight—a glassy, lit-from-within glow taken up a notch.
