Emmy Nominations 2025: Historic, Record-Breaking and Otherwise Notable Nominees

The 2025 Emmy nominations were a big year for first-time nominees, representation, oldest and youngest nominees and more.

Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese (The Studio), Harrison Ford (Shrinking), Adam Brody and Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), Cooper Koch (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story) and more are all up for their first Emmys. Meanwhile, Owen Cooper (Adolescence) and Kathy Bates (Matlock) received historic nods for being the youngest and oldest nominees in their respective categories.

Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) has made history for the LGBTQ+ community with their nod. Also, this year sees music power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé compete against each other for an Emmy.

Leading the competition is Severance, which scored 27 noms. The Penguin earned 24, and The White Lotus and The Studio fall shortly behind, tied with 23 noms each.

The 77th Emmy Awards, hosted by Nate Bargatze, is set to air live on CBS from the Peacock Theater in L.A. on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Find the complete list of nominees here.
