‘With Love, Meghan’ Gets a Second Season at Netflix

The Duchess of Sussex will bring viewers back into her home later this year.
Netflix announced Friday that a second season of With Love, Meghan will stream in the fall. The announcement comes just three days after the show’s premiere; filming on the next set of episodes has already finished.
With Love, Meghan is a lifestyle series that features the duchess and a group of “friends old and new” — guests in the first season include Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer and chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters, among others — at her home in Montecito, California, cooking, gardening and chatting with one another. The show also highlights Meghan’s “personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected,” as the logline puts it.
The series had initially been set for a January debut but was pushed back in the wake of the L.A. wildfires. The show has received generally negative reviews — THR noted that “the show comes across as an oddly timed peek into how the other half lives” — but has been a consistent presence in Netflix’s in-app top 10 this week (the first set of viewing figures for With Love, Meghan, based on Netflix’s internal data, will arrive on March 11).
(In conjunction with the series, the duchess introduced a lifestyle brand called As Ever — stylized with lower-case e in “ever” — that was developed in partnership with Netflix).
Archewell Productions, the company headed by the duchess and Prince Harry, produces the series with Sony Pictures Television’s Intellectual Property Corporation. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex executive produces with Archewell’s Chanel Pysnik, IPC’s Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman and Michael Steed, and showrunner Leah Hariton. Steed also directs.
