John Mulaney to Headline Chicago’s Wrigley Field, a Stand-up First

John Mulaney is going big with his current tour, following a string of sold-out dates with a marquee performance in his hometown next year. The stand-up is set to play Chicago’s Wrigley Field, marking the first time a comic has ever headlined the historic ballpark.

The Everybody’s Live host announced the news on Tuesday night during — what else? — a Chicago Cubs game. Before the Cubs lost to the New York Mets, Mulaney sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” to the crowd and then took a seat in the broadcast booth to share the news — noting the venue’s daunting capacity.

“Look, if Mark Grace could come out there every day and just deliver ripping cigarettes, I can face down this crowd too,” offered Mulaney.

Tickets are not yet on sale for the July 11, 2026, performance but it is expected to draw a crowd of tens of thousands. (During baseball games, Wrigley regularly fits north of 40,000.)

Mulaney began touring Mister Whatever earlier in 2025, and the last three months of the year are packed with dates throughout the U.S. A taped special of his new set has yet to be announced, but it’s only a matter of time.

And for those more interested in Mulaney’s musical stylings, the MLB graciously posted the below clip of his seventh inning stretch serenade.
